Maritime College of Forest Technology

More Details...

The Maritime College of Forest Technology (MCFT) in Fredericton, New Brunswick was established in April 1946 as a co-operative effort of the provincial governments of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, and the wood-using industries of the two provinces. In 1980, a Bathurst campus was introduced to help serve the Francophone population.

MCFT specializes in natural resource education and has been graduating knowledgeable, skilled, and capable forest technicians for over 70 years. We devote 100% of our time to learning and working with students and faculty who are passionate about the outdoors and who want to make a difference in the natural resource sector. We instill within our graduates a land ethic that will guide them in their interactions with clients, employers, colleagues, and the environment in which they work.

MCFT has graduated over 3,300 students since 1946, and continues to produce quality graduates primed for work in the natural resource sector. They can be found in municipal, provincial, and federal government departments, working for NGO’s and non-profits, operating their own businesses, suppressing wildfire, and in many other exciting positions.
